Carter experts Karl, Mike, Hussain and Mel finished a busy week last Thursday as the 2019 DSEI Exhibition drew to a close. Recognised as one of the UK defence and security industry’s premier events, the exhibition is a showcase for the very best related technologies, making it a natural place for Carter Bearings to be present.
We’re pleased to report that we took centre stage in the field of ultra-high precision bearing technology, and attracted visitors from a variety of leading contractors. Some of these manufacturers, as you may have seen in defence related news outlets recently, have just been awarded significant new contracts: as a result, we held many discussions with some well-placed visitors this week. A good number of these conversations centred around our lightweight, heavy duty slew ring portfolio, together with our special ceramic and coated bearings for extreme speeds (rpm) and high temperature use. Silverthin bearings also featured strongly this week, with some interesting meetings focusing on space saving, weight saving and performance capabilities in a number of applications including optronics.
Another big talking point on our stand at DSEI was our introduction of class-leading military and aerospace specification rod ends and bearings from our partners at Aurora Bearings Inc. Having produced a special lightbox to specifically highlight these outstanding products, we were well-rewarded with some interesting new enquiries for them as a result.
Given the reception we received from visitors this week, and the real expressions of interest generated from senior purchasing and specifying personnel across the defence and aerospace industry on our stand, we have already booked a stand at DSEI in 2021. More news on that follows anon, but we can say for sure that we will be moving to a more central, and larger, prime site nearer to our many aerospace customers.
