The UNASIS Swivel Torque Tool is a novel solution to test the swivel torque or misalignment torque of a mounted bearing. This test is specified by many major manufacturer’s process specification including Airbus AIPI / AIPS 03-03-012 and Boeing BAC5435. Carter recognized the difficulties and inaccuracies in testing this misalignment torque using a spring scale and engineered a solution that cannot be found anywhere else. The Unasis Swivel Torque Tool does not need to be calculated by multiplying the moment arm distance by the force and the sine of the spring scale angle. This design ensures the axis of rotation is always down the centreline of the bearing. The swivel torque tool incorporates the breakaway torque test within one assembly saving both time and money in the process. Just like our other UNASIS Breakway Torque Tool, there is no possibility of damaging the bearing ball by over-torqueing the assembly. The excess force is distributed through a plastic washer.
