Carter Bearings Wins World Record

Carter supplies bearings for two world-record-beating cars in the same year. While the Drayson car smashes the record for the most lightweight car, Team Spitphya win the Red Bull Soapbox Derby with a car using hybrid bearings supplied by Carter.

Carter revolutionises the robotics industry

Carter design custom stainless-steel cam followers for use in the robotics industry. These specific products were designed for robotic equipment being used to decommission the Fukushima Nuclear Powerplant.

Carter sees potential in the optical industry

Silverthin bearings are specified into world-leading optical equipment thanks to their precision engineering and small sizing.

Carter enters the aerospace industry

Carter achieves AS9120 Aerospace certification required to stock and distribute products including rolling elements, plain bearings and associated tooling for Aviation, Space, and Defence.

Silverthin precision thin section bearings

Carter becomes the European Master Distributor for Silverthin precision thin section bearings. These bearings are manufactured in the USA under strict industry regulations, and are available in a range of standard configurations and a variety of materials, coatings and lubrications combinations.

Carter transforms the gas turbine industry

UNASIS custom-designed ball bearings supplied by Carter Bearings are specified into an industrial gas turbine application. These bespoke bearings offer four times the service life of the original bearing used in the application.

Carter makes its mark in the ultra-high vacuum industry

Cater design custom cam followers for use in cutting-edge high vacuum equipment.

2000
Carter’s beginning

Carter is established in the UK, to represent Carter Manufacturing Co. Inc throughout Europe. This remains the company head office, although other partner locations have since been established throughout Europe and America.
