Carter has had another successful exhibition at Hannover Messe 2017. This year there were 6,500 exhibitors with 225,000 visitors and over 1,500 professional lectures. In the Motion, Drive and Automation fair, Carter promoted our specialist bearing ranges with great interest. This year we focused on our newest product ranges of Napoleon Engineering Services custom aerospace bearings and Cobra Solid Fill Lubricants along with our hybrid and ceramic bearings, thin section bearings and custom industrial ranges.
Carter Manufacturing Limited is the European master distributor for Napoleon Engineering Services (NES) product. As presented on the stand in Hannover, our custom aerospace certified bearing range offers small order quantities with fast lead times and full technical support. Custom bearings include deep groove ball bearings, angular contact ball bearings, double row self-aligning bearings, needle roller bearings and cylindrical roller bearings, in outside diameters that range from 20mm up to 350mm. The bearings come fully certified with ISO9001:2008 and AS9100C.
440C, Cronidur® 30, XD15NW, 52100, M50, M50 NiL, Pyrowear® 675 and superelastic NiTiNOL 60 high-life materials and coatings are all standard materials for NES. Rolling element materials vary from 52100, 440C, M50, Cronidur® 30 and Silicon Nitride ceramic along with precision machined cages can be supplied in bronze, steel, silver-plated bronze or steel, Nylon 6/6, PEEK, Vespel, Torlon® and Phenolic.
Carter also focused on Cobra Solid Fill Lubricants (CSL) manufactured by Unique Technologies Associates in the USA. CSL is a proprietary, dry, solid graphite formula engineered to seal and lubricate bearings. It exhibits extraordinary performance even in the most difficult applications. The characteristics of our products allow for great extremes in temperature (up to 380C) without any change in starting torque or lubricity.
CSL lubricants are injected into clean bearings, either ball or roller, then thermally cured and hardened. The mixture nearly fills 100% of the space between inner and outer races and encapsulates the balls or rollers along with the cage. The graphite solid lubrication moves in conjunction with the cage and balls or rollers and deposits a thin film of graphite along every surface it comes in contact with. This thin film prevents metal to metal contact thus minimizing the coefficient of friction within the raceway.
Carter also showcased their hybrid and ceramic range which was very popular for customers with extreme environment applications.
