To meet the increased demands being made on gas turbines, Carter has engineered and developed – in partnership with leading gas turbine OEMs – a range of upgraded bearings for a variety of applications including Turbine Bleed Valves. These bearing developments and innovations have delivered dramatic improvements in turbine reliability and have also increased the tolerance of bleed air temperatures and assisted with the delivery of greatly elevated loading conditions. These upgrades, and others, have been proven on more than 350 customer valves with more than 3.2 million cycles completed faultlessly under test conditions.
We have been called upon to reverse engineer and manufacture obsolete gas turbine bearings when the original bearing manufacture no longer supports the program. This includes bearings on the main compressor shaft and high-pressure turbine. Our bearing engineers have the industry knowledge to meet and exceed existing turbine bearing designs.
Carter’s specialist Gas Turbine bearing team have decades of experience in the field and are always available to discuss – formally or informally – the bearing aspects of a new design, an upgrade, a retrofit or a replacement. Whether the requirement calls for special bearing materials, a deep groove design or ultra-high temperature operation, we know the answers.
